Shinta Febriany is a poet, screenwriter and theater director. Shinta’s works are known for challenging gender stereotypes, exploring the body, and researching contemporary urban issues in Eastern Indonesia. She wrote Aku Bukan Masa Depan (I am Not the Future) (2003) and Gambar Kesunyian di Jendela (Pictures of Silence in the Window) (2017), two poetry collections.
Shinta earned her M.A. in the Study of Performing Arts and Fine Arts, Gadjah Mada University. For her dedication in the field of theater she was awarded the Celebes Award from the Government of South Sulawesi (2007). She worked as the Artistic Director of Kala Theater and General Chair of the Indonesian National Theater Association (Penastri).
