Ian Wilson is a Senior Researcher at the Indo-Pacific Research Centre, Murdoch University, Western Australia. A political sociologist, he researches and writes on contemporary Indonesian politics and society and is the author of Politik Jatah Preman (2019), Main Hakim Sendiri dan Militansi Islam Populis di Indonesia (2019) and Politik Tenaga Dalam (2022). His research explores the relationships between power, violence, representation and marginalization, through an examination of the dynamics of urban and street-based politics in contemporary Indonesia.
